I love that Felix went the extra effort to do something that would make him happy (aww) and find it very interesting and cool that it would involve the Agathons, especially Sharon. I also find it neat that it employed their "connected" origin (although, being nit-picky, moon thereof for her, not the planet proper, and, since this has recently reached claw-my-own-eyes-out pet peeve level for me: A-E-R-E-L-O-N. Say it with me now).
I particularly like the part about him just *assuming* everyone had to be watching them, impressed, only to be brought back down to reality rather quickly when he realized they weren't. That is just SO Gaius, and it makes me feel simulataneously annoyed with and sorry for him.
